Emergence

June 2025 - MARCH 2026

Emergence is a year-long experiential nature-based group meeting outdoors for four hours, four times in total, once during each season.

Led by psychotherapist and wilderness guide Megan Newton, MA, LPC, and psychotherapist Heather Carlson, MA, LMFT, Emergence is a year-long rite of passage designed to explore your full humanness through an intentional connection with nature. Bringing with you the seeds of whatever might be most relevant in your life, each session will include a ‘micro wilderness quest’ to guide you through the threshold of each season, inviting you into self-exploration in order to both let go and emerge a new. Whether you seek to process anxiety, loss/grief, deepen your self-awareness, or are holding an inquiry about a relationship or life transition, this group invites you to perceive your innate wisdom cultivated through an intentional relationship with nature so that you might live in greater alignment with your authentic self. Our relationship to the earth is essential to the emergence of our essence; when you come home to nature, you come home to your own sacred knowing.

What to Expect

Each meeting will include a brief seasonal teaching through the lens of The Four Shields of Human Nature, personal intention setting, solo time on the land, and group reflection/witnessing. In other words, each session is a micro wilderness quest designed to provide you with a container for connection with self through nature. You can use these sessions/ceremonies to explore one issue/topic across all seasons or explore whatever is present for you during each meeting. This time on the land will evoke your innate wisdom, and receiving reflection from the group will support you integrating that wisdom into your life.
